The "World State" is similar to today's society because everybody is born into a certain class based on their parents. The difference is we have people telling us to strive better while they have people telling them they are already in the best class there could be, so they won't get any ideas to try to be better than what they are.
The world state is similar to todays society because we have class and caste system in todays society. Just like the World State we judge people on their job, what they wear, and how they act. The only thing that is different about our society and the World State is the way people are put into their job and the way that people are born.
The world state is similar because people can be born into a job, even in our society. Also people often do as there parents want them to do so if you have a family that runs with a line of doctors then you will probably be a doctor. This is different because people are always trying to do there best and they don't give up on dreams. No matter what people will feel the need to do what they wan to do and do whatever it takes to make there dreams come true.
A "World State" is similar to our society because it is the way people are given a destiny so to say. However, they receive a job and then have to work at that specific job for the rest of their life and they do not have the ability to better themselves, unlike we can. If someone in our society doesn't love their job then they have the opportunity to get a better job, unlike the Gammas, Betas, Deltas, and Epsilons in the "World State."
It is quite similar in the fact that there are different tiers of people. Even today we have different classes such as the "upper, middle, or lower" class. These different classes each have different jobs in which they do, and the upper class people usually have a higher intelligence or they work harder. While the lower class workers usually work in more physical labor jobs. This parallels the same as the different classes within "A Brave New World" because they have classes that each have their own jobs and skill sets. However they are different in the fact that in today's society people within different classes can easily change their class, but within the "World State" there is no way to change your class. It is also never desired for a person to change their class within the "World State"
"World State" is somewhat similar and somewhat different to our society today. A huge problem in our society today is that we always want people to be something they're not. we always want someone to do the things that we ourselves want to do instead of letting that person chose what they want to do and what they want to be. The world state does the same thing in their society but they physically force their people to do what they are told to do based on their class. upper classes don't have to do as much as the lower classes have to. The difference in their society and ours is we have choice of freedom; they don't. They are forced to do the things that they do, and we are not.
It's similar because they have a higher, middle, and lower class just like we do. It's different because they make their kids on an assembly line and only live for about 25 years at a time. It's also different because their government doesn't want them to achieve as they can they only want to have a set future and that's it so its kinda like Japan in that way.
The World State is very different from today's society. They are only wanting the people to be smart enough for one job. The children grow up hearing the same stuff over and over so that it makes them never want to change their mind. In today's society we hear some of the same stuff over and over, too, but they don't limit how smart we can be. Today we learn to the limit our brain can handle for us and get different jobs then everyone else in our grades. The World State is forcing them into these assigned jobs but our society doesn't do that.
The "World State" is similar to today's society because even though it isn't in writing, society goes by a kind of caste system, as a millionaire or lawyer will have better things and get looked at differently than as a homeless guy on the street. However, in today's society, the people make that choice to look at people differently - officially, we are all equals and have freedoms but some still choose to look at ones differently. With the World State, people have no choice or options to learn different and better things, they are just born with them already being implanted in their minds and already have a designated life. But in today's society, you make who you are and nobody can take away or knock you down from that, it is all up to you.
Ways that the "World State" is similar to today's society are that they both are trying to control the societies, and put certain things in their heads. In the World State, they literally almost force the people to believe what they what them to. That is similar to our society because everyone tries to change you, and make you think what they want. However, it is not drilled in our minds from birth like in this fiction world. Also, the world state creates their children in a lab, while we do not. Similarly, there are social classes in the world state and today's society. There are upper classes and lower classes, but these are much more prominent in the world state. The classes are more defined there. They are both highly technology based, although the world state relies on it for even birth. The world state is a more strict society.
I believe that this is similar to a communist government because the jobs are picked for the people in that country, just like the jobs are picked for the clones in this story. it is different because these people are made on a assembly lin and are programed for that job
The "world state" is similar to our society by how people say you have the greatest job in the world and you should not change. Which is happen to the babes as they are brainwashed in their sleep to think they have the easiest out of everyone. It is different by how we are not massed produced and that we can change our career choices and stuck there until we die like the people in the "world state". But we are similar and how people wants to be separate like some people have a caste system in our society today, and in there "world state" they have alphas and epsilons. This is how we are different and similar to the "world state".
In our society, we are taught that some things are bad and we should stay away from them. In the "World State", the infants are programmed through bad experiences that things are bad and they should stay away. However, these things are not bad, they just do not apply to their future job. In a way, the classes that they have could be compared to the different classes of the Hindu societies. However, in the World State, the babies are exposed to hindrances to the development of their mind and body to make them suitable for that class.
In today's society their are many different types of people. Some people strive and want to achieve and wants others to achieve with them, some people strive, but want others to fail they can become great, and then there are debby downers. These people feel that they can't strive and don't want others to achieve either. The thing is that people in today's world try to hurt each other, they can be very cruel if they are not a good person. These "debby downers" ussually have been told that they can't so much and have been "beaten" down so much that they begin to believe in the negativity; this how the World State is. The World State wants you to believe them and only do what they tell you to do, they want you in a certain spot. The World State is like a person who strives, but wants others to fail, while the people are unaware that they wee made into debby downers.
The World State is similar to the way society is today in the aspect that children are taught from a young age was the correct social behavior is and what correct morals are. Society today isn't as extreme as in the World State, we don't employ 'sleep teaching' on small children, but we still make use of the fact that teaching children lessons at a young age will help those facts stick. World State is still quite different than society today. The World State goes to extreme lengths to keep children in their castes, while in society today, people are allowed social mobility.
The World State is similar in the way that they want to mass produce materials in the shortest amount of time in the cheapest way for the maximum amount of profit. They also have lower, middle, higher classes just as we do. On the same note machines or technology as become a huge part in their society. However, they are also very different then us. They make children in a factory. They don't have moms and dads and are forced with only one option for their future. They are look down upon one another and many are identical to one another. They have short life spans and mature in a very short amount of time. To conclude, they have more differences than similarities to our society.
The "World State" is similar to today's society in that people are put into different social classes. While they are much more clearly defined in the excerpt, we can still see these in our society. Those who work more public jobs such as law enforcement, judges, prosecutors, government workers, etc. are revered with much more respect than other people in lower jobs like construction and factory workers. You can almost tell who is of a higher 'social class' than another based on their attitude, how they hold themselves, and how they dress. We still pay quite a bit of unnecessary attention to the boundaries of unspoken social classes. However, the "World State" is very different from our society in that we don't condition babies to hate other classes. We don't train the next generation to believe they are better than anyone else, that type of thinking sprouts instead from an internal sense of self-entitlement and influences of their culture. We are to believe everyone is equal regardless of religion, race, gender, occupation, etc. The people in the story are trained to believe they are better than all the rest.
The "World State" is similar to today's society because the factory is 'brainwashing' the babies. The concept of sleep teaching is used. Records are played when the children are sleeping. Each class has a different track. The text states "I'm really awfuly glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas." In today's society we are grouped into class systems by our annual income. The World State is different that today's society because we don't train our children to hate different things that coincide with their future job. The text states, "now we proceed to rub in the lesson with a mild electric shock."
The "World State" is similar to today's society because they have advanced technology like we do today. They are also similar because the "World State" and today's society still have jobs. It's the way they do things that are different. The use their technology to actually MAKE babies. They're not reproduced in the normal way, they are made in a machine, which makes them exactly alike. They also brainwash them into thinking that they are better than the others and make them not want to do another job. Speaking of jobs, the children are predestined into a certain way of living. Overall, they are quite different with few similarities.
The "World State" is similar to today's society by how some people saying that what we have is good and other are not as good as us.The only difference is that we don't program it in while asleep but it is just said every now and then. Also we are born in the class our parents are in. It is different in multiple way. One being that we, as a society, don't scare little kids with the process of love then terror. In the excerpt it shows the they program people to what they need that class knowledge to be.
This World State is similar to today's society for the classes are separated. In this excerpt the classes are separated by color. Although we are not separated by color the barrier between social classes are still visible. Just by taking a glance at a persons clothing, occupation, or residence you can categorize them into a certain class. If a person has very elegant clothing on, their occupation salary is high, and their residence is rather large then you can profile them as being in the higher class compared to others. In this excerpt it is similar for you the classes are visible and separated. Ways in which this World State is different from today's society is that in this society they have a FIXED MINDSET. These people have a set potential. They only learn skills that will be relevant to their set occupation. Any other skill not associated with this occupation is considered useless, therefore, it is not learned. Not to mention there are restraints on the people. They cannot exceed their class nor go below it. They have a destined life before they are even born. In today's society many have GROWTH MINDSET. We may start out on a lower class but we will eventually work our way up if possible. We have a potential that has not yet been met. We have no true restraints on our intelligence or life. As shown, there are similarities and differences between the two societies.
In today's society, World State is similar in some ways. From the time you first start school all the way until you finish college, people are being encouraged to pursue their dreams. To accomplish all aspirations. This is similar by treating us all like Alphas and Betas. But, there's also differences. From watching television to reading magazines we can determine that we aren't all equal and there is always someone judging us. This makes us fearful to say or do anything wrong. Society pressures people to be something they're not, creating a false image. Showing us that we aren't as pretty or as talented as the people in the magazines. That we aren't rich and famous, so we have to work 10 times harder. Making us similar to deltas and gammas and epsilons. - Simple lower class.
The "World State" society is similar to today's society because like the betas, deltas, alphas, gammas, and epsilons, we too have social classes. Our society is split up by wealth, social status, employment, residency, education, and several others. And just like in "World State" society, we flaunt over our class and where we belong within our society. But unlike "World State", we do not train or educate our brains in sleep teaching or "class conciousness". And we certainly do not instruct our infants to fear flowers and books.
People are made to work one particular job where others find the job they want to pursue. In the stories society the people are engineered to work a job that is assigned to them at a young age, while in today's society we find our calling to the job we want, we don't need someone to make the decision for us. In both societies, the people enjoy what they do, they believe that they are the best at what they, and they are extremity passionate about what they do.
I don't think the "World State" is like our society in the emotional since. First of all in the 'World State' people don't have families and just the thought of one is disgusting. Well in our society we are though to cherish and value our family units, we keep in touch and stay close to our family. However we very similar in the way we bring up generations; like when the babies are placed in front of colorful books and flowers, then shocked to inject a negative emotion to knowledge and nature. This is like when a child in our society does something or grabs something their not supposed to, just the "World States" do it on a much larger and more sever scale. We are alike to the "World States" in some ways, but the difference is that we believe in the value of a person and we don't just see them as disposable things.
Today's society is based on a sort of freedom and justice for all that is not really given to everyone, but while it is accurate that today's society does bring happiness to many it also bring violence and despair to others. In a brave new world they have developed the perfect society where everyone's only desire is to contribute to the improvement of the world. Everyone's jobs may be different from difficult to easy but everyone's happiness is the same. This is the key to world peace because to have everyone retain a perfect joy in their mind creates a perfectly ordered society for them to live in.
The "World State" is similar to today's society because of the technology. They use advanced technology just like we do, but the way they use their advanced technology is what's different. They make babies in machines, that make them all look alike. They don't produce them the normal way like we do.
The "World State" is similar to today's society because everybody is born into a certain class based on their parents. The difference is we have people telling us to strive better while they have people telling them they are already in the best class there could be, so they won't get any ideas to try to be better than what they are.
