Why is it important to actively listen to people who are speaking to us?

  2. It is important to actively listen when someone is speaking to you because it lets the speaker know that you are actually listening to what they are saying. It also helps to ensure yourself that you are paying attention and not thinking about something else while the speaker is speaking.

  9. It is important to actively listen person/people speaking because without listening you will not retain what they are speaking about. Especially in the case of our presentations today, it is important to listen, or else you will not learn from your mistakes on the IA.

  10. It is important to actively listen so that you can get the full effect and knowledge from the presentation. Plus if you are distracted and not paying attention while a person is presenting it is very rude.

  11. It is important to listen to someone speaking to you because they could have something very important to say no matter who it is. If it's someone you don't associate with or usually talk to don't just blow them off, they might have something useful or of importance to tell you. Also, the topic they speak to you about you might find very interesting. Or in other cases it could be a teacher and he/she could be talking about something that you NEED to learn.

  14. When someone is speaking it is just polite to pay attention or at least pretend. It's important because you will gain more knowledge of what they are talking about. It also helps the speaker too because no ones wants to speak in front of a crowd that isn't listening or looking up front at the presentation.

  15. If you do not listen to people who are speaking it makes you appear inconsiderate, rude, and as though what they are saying holds no importance to you. Also if you do not listen you can miss important points that have been made thus allowing you to not learn anything. Overall the importance of listening is so that you can be respectful while learning something new.

  16. If we don't listen to the people speaking to us, we will never learn anything. If we never learned anything, we would become useless human being. We'd be a waste of space and be better off dead... This is why we should listen. No one should die because of something like not listening.

  18. Its important so that you don't miss important information that you may need to hear. Such as they are giving out free kittens out by wal-mart's parking lot near the side that has little Caesars. Then you would miss getting a free kitten that is so fluffeh that its like a little pillow of clouds.

  22. It is important to actively listen to people who are speaking for many reasons. First, it is rude to not listen to that person; what they are saying could be important to you. New information can always be hear about something. Second, what they are saying could really help you. In our power points, we are reviewing the IA 3 standards; if you missed questions in the standard then they are showing you how to get the right answer. Really the most important thing is to listen because information is always very helpful.

  23. Usually, it is important to listen to those speaking to us because the words that come off their lips could be worth while to us. Good communication goes a long way. Although listening is critical and important, sometimes listening isn't the best option. Like if people tell you that you can't do something, you're not good enough, or just simply plain words of hatred and dishonesty, we should not listen to those words people speak. For we must listen to those who lead us with words of wisdom in order to build us up rather than take us down.

You might have already known about the topic, but it is still a good idea to listen so you can retain the knowledge. Besides, it is a common act of respect to listen when someone or a group of people give a presentation.
