  1. I think that the best part about this school would be the students that go here. They are not a bunch of idiots that are mean all the time.

  2. Im too hyped right now because of last nights baseball game. We beat county which is a huge upset. We won 7-5 after scoring 6 runs in one inning. Im hyped up because thats three wins in a row and two of them were against really good teams. HYPED UP LETS GO BALL OUT

  3. I'm excited for tomorrow, this is because i'm going to the rock quarry tomorrow. It's basically like a little lake, but it'll be my first time going this year and basically kicking my off my summer for my own personal self. The water will prolly be cold still but oh well i'm excited for it.

  4. I just started reading "Fault in Our Stars," I love it already! I think it's going to be a tear jerker though, because I can already tell how sad it will be. I can't wait for the movie either, it looks really good! I recommend this book to anyone!

  5. So I PR'd again in hurdles! I'm so happy that I've improved since my first meet. I started running a 1:02 and in four meets have got down to a 54 second 300 hurdles. My goal is to reach an even 50 by the end of the season. As of now I'm hovering between fourth and fifth in the region, which means I could potentially do well at state. If I could make it to state, that'd be basically the best thing ever.

  6. Stephan Foster auditions were yesterday and for the most part the Thomas Nelson kids did pretty well. I know the results of the Thomas Nelson kids but I just can't say them. I know for sure there are 2 people who got in. There was 8/25 people who got scholarships and we will get our letter in the mail. This audition was vocal and instrumental. I auditioned for vocal camp.

What rises without legs, howls without a voice, and dies without ever having a life?

  9. My favorite thing about our school has got to be the sub sandwiches. Best thing that's ever happened to this school just because they are so amazing.

  10. Well we still have 2 years 11 months and 19 days until Heoffery's baby is born. So continue the elevator music! *Dun du-du-du dun-dun* and the due date for Heoffery's little bundle of joy is 2016, on the 21st of April.

  11. I am so glad that today is Friday and that the weekend is now here. Even though I am happy that today is Friday I would be more happy if I wasn't here.We shouldn't be here because today is a snow makeup day which makes this whole day a lot worst, not to mention the EOC today in biology. I have a feeling will be a long day here at Thomas Nelson.

  12. I was ready for today to be over before I even left my house. At least I'm going shopping with the girls after school. I'm in need of summer clothes and the fact that there's apparently 26 days until we're out of school makes it all more exciting.

  13. I am going to the zoo tomorrow and I am so excited! I haven't been to the zoo in like two years and when I did go two years ago I went with Allison and her little brother. He is like 50 pounds and is only two years old. He was so hard to lift up to show him the animals. So this time I can just look at the animals without having to lift up a very heavy child. I need to go get a new book from the library because I just finished mine yesterday and it was super good. I want to read the second one so I hope the library has it. Our assistant volleyball coach who coached the varsity team last year quit last week so we are looking for people to help coach but I think that is going to be extremely hard to find someone but I really hope we do. My competitive coach is trying to get me to transfer to Elizabethtown but I played varsity last year so I wouldn't be able to play on the volleyball team so I am not transferring. He just needs to come and help coach here.

  14. My favorite thing about this school is that I can get away with a lot of stuff because I've made friends with a lot of my teachers. I've been caught with my phone out a lot of times but I haven't got a responsibility form yet. Another thing is that the work here isn't really hard so I can just breeze through high school without no worries.

  15. Waiting, waiting, and waiting. Sometimes waiting is the hardest part of auditioning for anything. The audition part is is easy. You walk in, make eye contact with the judges, perform at your best, and then leave. Waiting for an email, phone call, a letter, or just a piece of clean white paper with several names typed in black ink to be hung while millions of kids are crowding around is just plain hard.

  16. I wish we had a better science program here. I have biology and chemistry this year and I feel like I have learned absolutely nothing. Most of the things we cover I already know from middle school, which makes me feel like we're only learning the basics when I'd love to go deeper in the subject. I'm going to take AP chemistry next year, unless I don't like who's teaching it, then I'll take AP biology since I have to take a science class. Hopefully it goes better than it has this year. The fact that I haven't really learned much in biology also scares me because of the EOC constructed response that happens to be today. There will probably be something on there that we haven't even touched base on yet and I will have no idea how to answer the question. It's just freaking me out I guess; at least next year there will be an AP book we have to go off of this way I will be able to see if we've gotten everything done that we need to. I wish Mrs. Bonner had never left, I learned more in my chemistry class for the few weeks she was here than the rest of the year she was gone.

  17. Freshmen year I knew I had a special gift that would help me conquer high school but I didn't know what my power is until sophomore year. The first day of sophomore year I had to walk through the freshmen hall to get to first period; The thing about these freshmen is that they are cold-heart angry creatures that can kill the most innocent prey with one swap of their paws. I was walking past them when at the very end of the hall I saw a herd of them blocking the hall so I could not get to my class. I did not know what to do so I charged into their herd and I did not get killed.

  18. My favorite thing about our school is the opportunities it presents to our students. There are many schools that to not give opportunities to all of their students but instead to a select few who they feel would enjoy it the most. Our school does a fantastic job in allowing us all to be informed of every growth opportunity available thus allowing more of our students to grow into the people they wish to become. Mainly though, our counselors play a big role in this communication, they strive their hardest to allow us to all have an equal opportunity to get into these many programs or receive the many scholarships. Overall my favorite thing about our school is the dedication they put into it to allow us to grow with the amazing opportunities that present themselves while in school.

  19. I watched the heat radiate in the air off in the distance as I sat on our house's old, cracked cement porch. It was cool and shaded, allowing me to sit comfortably in the 100 degree weather. The lawn mower buzzed and freshly cut grass could be smelled. It's peaceful, I thought as I took a sip of the lemonade I had sitting beside me, there's nothing I would change about today. 'Savannah, wake up!' A screech shattered the peace. I opened my eyes and I was back in my room. I was back in filthy city with its filthy air and its filthy people.

  20. I am in one of those moods where I have no idea what I'm talking about most of the time. So if some of this is really random, I'm sorry. I'm just writing what goes through my head until the time is up. My mom was a real female dog yesterday. I pick on her like I usually do and she didn't even give me a hug goodnight. I was a female dog back and called her a "butthole" and left the room with my dog after hugging my dad goodnight leaving her out. I don't know why I just said all this. Like, I don't want everyone to know my problems because it's no one's buisness and it's not like anyone cares. Oh My Toaster Stroodle. Okay, so I'm reading this book called "Game" by Barry Lyga and it's the second book to "I Hunt Killers" and it's crazy good. It has so much suspense and intensity and I just love it. In first period, I wrote a parody of "Timber" by Kesha ft. Pitbull. It's dirty, so I won't tell you about it. Well, time's up. Keep in mind that I was continuously typing this entire thing and didn't stop to think about what I wrote.

    K. Bye.

  21. In photography were doing "book cover" photos. I did a cover of John Green's "Fault in Our Stars". I used Gus's cigarette metaphor to make a cover for it. Almost everyone in the class loved it, I had to explain what the metaphor ment. I actually enjoyed a project for once.

  22. Tomorrow is DERBY!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!! I get to go shoot guns with my 4H buddies for 2 hours tomorrow morning and this is also the biggest party our street has all year. There's tons of food, people and money. We also do a whiffle ball game; the kids against the adults. Last year the adults won but we were having to play in the freezing rain and it got dark on us, too so no one was playing every good. This year the kids will win!!!!! We also do a corn hole tournament. Last year we got rained out but this year is supposed to be nice. My friend Caylee and me are going to win. There will also be a lip singing battle this year. I've heard that my dad and his friends are going to bring out the Beastie boys. It is going to be so funny!!!!! The best part about these games though is if you win, you get a trophy/medal. My neighbor goes all out with this party! He even got us a private concert this year because his best friend's son is a rapper. He's not well known as of now but he's getting there. This year's Derby party is going to be great!!! I just hope I don't wake up with cheese balls all over me again because last time I fell asleep and the girls had a cheese ball fight.

  23. My favorite thing about Thomas Nelson High School is how unique it is! I love everything about it. The staff is friendly, the school stays clean, and everyone is just happy here! This school is way better than any other high school.

  24. Woot woot i get to leave in 15 minutes! I can not wait to get out of here! Today has been a really good day today considering i get to leave! I also get to hang with my bf after school and customize his car because that is the funnest thing in the work because we always get into a fight.

  25. I don't know what to write about, but I don't really want to talk about our school so.. train of thought, I guess? I'm having a super rough day, but it's whatever. I just have to get through several more periods and I'm home free. I'm working Derby tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm working from 5 am to 10 pm in an uncomfortable uniform surrounded by drunk people. I'm getting paid, though, so that makes it all okay! Hoping that my weekend turns out a lot better than I'm anticipating it to be.

  26. It feels really nice outside. I hate being in school when the weather is really nice. We wouldn't have to be here today if it wasn't for all of our snow days. Wicked Strong is definitely going to win the Kentucky Derby this year.

  27. I think the best thing about our school is the LEADER values, because it's making students realize that they need to be responsible before they go to college that way they are organized and ready to be responsible for themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  28. My favorite thing about this school is everything! I love this school with everything I have because they give us so many opportunities for our future. I mean everyone complained about our school at first, but look at how many great opportunities our school offers us. Be grateful to be a student at Thomas Nelson High School.

  29. Next period is my Biology EOC and I'm not looking forward to spending the last period of my school day just writing for 45 minutes. I can't wait until it's over with though, so that I can finally be done with the constructed response portion of these EOCs. I hope it's not very hard and that I won't blank out once the paper is in front of me. Hopefully it will go smoothly and I can go home in a good mood.

  30. Glad it's Friday been feeling awful this whole week and have hardly payed attention in any classes and definitely need the weekend to do my thing. Football has been sweet so far and a lot of good things are going to happen next year so that's been great about this week. Really all I'm thinking about is getting some sleep and feeling like me and not a zoned out turd.

  31. My favorite thing about the school is that everyone is so close-knit and it's like a second family. I really like the idea of "Generals Care". People are very caring and usually very accepting. I really like this about Thomas Nelson because it separates us from other schools to show that we actually care about each other and want to see each other succeed. I also like that our school is very clean and organized. People don't throw trash everywhere and they are very good about cleaning up after themselves.

  32. My favorite thing about Thomas Nelson is how it is new and full of opportunities! I've met so many people; some blessings, some lessons, and I'm glad I didn't have to go to County. I wouldn't of tried out for softball and I wouldn't have improved so much if it wasn't for Thomas Nelson. The whole school in "general" is cool except the hoody rule and responsibility forms.

  33. This weekend should be fun! Hannahs coming over tonight and going to my soccer game tomorrow yayyyyy I have missed her. I really dont know what else to write about. Hmm uhhh welppp prom was pretty fun i guess. I am just really bored and I want to leave.

  34. Its Friday! We are opening our pool today. It's too bad that it's not warm enough to swim in without getting hypothermia. I imagine the water temperature is going to be 50 at the most since it is only 60 outside. If my mom thinks I'm getting in tonight to clean it out, she is crazy. Unless she dares me, then I can't turn it down. That's how my mom makes me do chores, she dares me and then we place a bet. It works out because I get money and she gets things done because of me. She can't turn down a dare either so I might dare her to do it too.

  35. today has actually been a really good day. the biology eoc was surprisingly easy. people were complaining about how difficult it was, so i was a little scared at first. but now after taking it i am now relieved. other than that today i'm going to a friends house for a bon-fire.

  36. Well today I have done nothing. Like in all my classes all I have done or had to do is take notes and an EOC. It has been an alright day. I can't wait to get home and take a nap! I get mexican after school and then I am at home asleep. That is what I am looking forward to tonight!

  37. I think I'm going to write about food today. I really love food but I'm trying not to eat bread because too much bread is unhealthy for you. Except I dislike that because bread is my true love. Dinner rolls, sourdough bread, Italian bread, french bread, don't even get me started on Fazoli's bread sticks (Because if I did then I would say that I would gladly eat every single Fazoli's bread stick in the world and that would cause a shortage and that would be in direct violation of the 12th commandment: No talkin' of breadstick droughts.) In close relation to bread, however, is pasta. Pasta is also a genius food. The possibilities are endless. When you go to Olive Garden, they let you ponder these noodley endless possibilities and give you the joyous option of even choosing one to devour. TGFOG.

  38. Keep thinking of Minus the Bear.. Don't really know why but I was pretty into them in middle school, the acoustic version, of course. The majority of their jams are math music annnnnd I don't like math music. Apparently today's a dooty day for everybody... I blame the moon! I don't want to talk anymore... But my weekend is pretty empty even though I can't fill it. My mamma says I run too much, I'll pretty much be hanging at my house by myself. Yeee haww. Have an eoc next period. I CANNOT WAIT to fail!

  40. Today is Oaks and my mom is working the betting windows today and tomorrow for Derby. Also, Fall Out Boy, one of my favourite bands, it playing on the 4th Street Live stage today and it's free before 7 and only $5 after 7 and I really wanna go but I can't. This is the third concert in Louisville that I've wanted to go to in the span of 3 weeks. The first was All Time Low on April 23rd, second was We Came As Romans which I think was Monday or Tuesday, and then Fall Out Boy today. I am very sad.

  41. I hope its warmed up outside because all day I've been daydreaming of going home and laying on my trampoline. That's literally all I want to do. Its not like I've had a bad day or anything, actually I've had a relatively good day I'm just so done with this school week. I want to go home and just chill out for the first time all week long. I'm ready to go on another horror movie binge and drink as much mountain dew as my body will allow. I guess really I just need a debriefing from school overall. Its gotten to that point in the school year where I'm just so ready for it to be over. I want to stay up all night and not have to drink three cups of coffee to stay awake the next day. That sounds so great, you don't even know.

  42. I really need a new book to read. I have had the book I have now forever. I finished it two weeks ago. I haven't found the time to make it to the library to get a new one. Because I couldn't find the time to go to the library, I just downloaded a few books on my phone to read; I've finished all of those as well. I read Katie McGarry's "Crossing the Line" and "Red at Night". As expected, they were both super amazing! I just can't get enough of her books. I love all of them so much! None of her writing has been a disappointment. I can't wait for her new book "Take Me On"! I know it is going to be fantastic just like all of her other books!

  43. Ugh well I dont even know what to do with this free write. my mind has been blank all day. I just want to sleep but I wont be getting any sleep any time soon. Then since its devins moms birthday im going over there then dale has a game at nelson county tonight . Hes coming over to devs after his game and theres just I dont even know whats going on. Im just going to wing it. Then tomorrow im going to a derby party and maybe the lake with shelby and theres no time for sleep any where. I just want sleep.

  44. I'm excited for this weekend mostly because I won't see my mom until late Sunday. I spend too much time with her as is, and it's nice being away from parents for a while. I'm going to a friends house tonight, and going to a derby party with my old friends from St. Joe on Saturday. The only time I ever see them anymore is at parties, which isn't enough. They've been my best friends since like kindergarten, but I don't see them hardly ever because Thomas Nelson split me up from them.

  45. Today has maybe been the worst Friday of my life and I really hope it's trying to get better from here on out. My day started with that stupid EOC in Biology. Ugh. All I remember Mr. VanWyck saying before we began was to answer all three parts completely and try our best so I did. So I take my time and squeeze every last drop of scientific information I have into this one question part A, B, and C only to finish with like 10 minutes to spare. "Great," I thought, "Now I can just sit here and chill." So I did and when Mr. VanWyck took up the test we naturally started to talk about it. This is when I found out there there were two other questions on the back of the first one that I just completely missed. Like seriously, I never even saw them. I'm so done with this day.

  46. Last night was probably the best game i've seen in a while, we beat County 7-5 which we scored 6 in one inning against their second best pitcher, we are 9-16 this year so far and im proud of what we have accomplished.just hope that we can finish out the year strong. if we win every district game from now until the rest of the year we would be a 2 seed. but that is 3 wins in a row because of our lucky sniper and fishin' pole but it makes me proud to be a General even more so now!! GO GENERALS!

  47. Ya know its just one of those days its all about the he said she said.... yup have to stop there i'm in a glorious mood can't you tell nothing will go right and yet its not even terribly wrong i'm just ready to go I don't want to be at home I don't want to be at school I don't want to think and yet I feel the need to keep my mind busy but then I keep procrastinating and I think I just need to burn everything in my past, forget about today and hope for a better tomorrow. I don't like to hope though, then I get disappointed. Depend on yourself and expect the worst then you can't be let down and when something good happens its twice as amazing.
