THURSDAY

We're in the final days, class!

Scholar Start:
How far would you have been willing to go to get extra credit? How do you feel about the fact our school hasn't really given you that option?

  1. Honestly, I probably wouldn't go that far to get extra credit, unless I was failing or close to failing. I'd rather not do any more work than I have to to have a decent grade. I do feel it's unfair that our school hasn't given that option though, for the people who would take advantage of it.

  2. With my grades I really wouldn't need extra credit. I would use extra credit, though, to keep my grade up to an A. My goal for high school is to end each year with all A's. I would do any extra credit, whether it be writing an essay or doing a packet, to keep my grades up.

  3. I feel like extra credit can be the difference between an A and a B. I would be willing to do anything to get extra credit if my grade was dependent on it. I feel like our school should give extra credit to the students that truly want to do it.

  4. I would jump on the opportunity if I got it because then I would be able to get a better grade in the classes that I need to. I think that our school needs to offer since we have a harder curriculum then other schools and those schools offer extra credit so why wouldn't ours? It's just making it harder to do good in school.

  5. Honestly, I would be willing to do a lot for extra credit! I think our school should offer extra credit, so then we can have even more opportunities to succeed.

  6. I would go pretty far for extra credit just because I feel like it would help, even if I don't need it.

  7. For me, if I had to worry about extra credit I would go to extreme lengths to get my grade up. For one I want to keep my GPA up and what not. Also, my mom would kill me if I have anything below a B. Well heck, she even cares if I have B! So I would be able to say that I would go to lengths for them. The fact that our school doesn't offer this much is stupid in my view. I mean some students really need that extra credit. They don't want to fail their classes. I mean they're trying not to spend an extra year of school here and I'm pretty sure the teachers don't want to put up with them for another year.

  8. I probably would go pretty far to get extra credit because in these last few days any good grade can help. I'm not too terribly upset that our school doesn't offer it but I feel like a lot of people would take advantage of it if it was an option.

  9. I wouldn't go too far to earn extra credit since my grades are good. Also many of my teachers allow extra credit.

  10. To get extra credit I wouldn't go so far, but I would ask for it if I needed it. The fact that the school hasn't given us the option to have extra credit makes me frustrated and a little upset.

  11. Extra credit is great with some classes while others don't give any at all. I feel like not enough classes give extra credit. I feel like we should get offered in all classes but if you don't need it then it won't count against you.

  12. Extra credit is beautiful beyond all other words. Every school should value extra credit as a gift from God himself for a few extra points can change your entire life.

  13. If I needed extra credit I would probably do anything unless it's super dangerous or illegal; but if I felt confident that I could pull it off then I'd probably do it anyway. Teachers should be able to give extra credit if they want to, but it should be available to everyone.

  14. I would take every extra credit option I could get because it could make my grades go way up. I wish our school gave us more opportunities to better ourselves with extra credit.

  15. I would love to have extra credit because come on if you have a somewhat of a bad grade and you just want to get better. The fact that the school has not given us that is sad because they have failing kids that won't get to graduate with their friends

  16. My opinion on extra credit varies. When you really have tried your hardest and still haven't managed to get the grade you want/need, extra credit is appropriate. However, if you never really gave effort and rely solely on extra credit to bump you up. The school should allow more opportunities though.

  17. Most teachers will let you make up stuff but they will not give you extra credit. I don't like that idea because I don't always have time to stay after school to redo things. But i like doing extra credit better because you can do it on your own time. And i feel like extra credit is somewhat better. I don't know how far i would go to do extra credit. it would depend on the grade I had in that class.

  18. I honestly don't know how much I need it, and that is because it greatly depends on how much I need it. So I don't really mind that they don't give it because it isn't even needed in the first place.

  19. Depending on how terrible the grade in the class, I would do anything. I would write papers, make videos, anything. Honestly, I feel a bit cheated that our school doesn't offer as much extra credit as it can because our school's goal is our success. A few bad grades shouldn't dictate the a student's success in the class.

  20. The fact that our school doesn't offer extra credit really is really stupid. I care about my grades and I just think it is ridiculous.

  21. I probably wouldn't have gone very far to earn extra credit because I feel like I did pretty good this year. I'm not failing any of my classes so I don't need extra credit. I don't really care that the school doesn't give out extra credit because in my opinion you should be trying to earn a good grade anyway. You shouldn't rely on extra credit.

  22. I would go to far lengths for extra credit if my grades where bad. You don't get bad grades in my house. However, my opinion is that extra credit should be allowed; sometimes you try your best but you still get a bad grade, so I feel it should be an option.

  23. I would go miles to get extra credit just because I want to get all 100's. It upsets me we haven't gotten this opportunity. People laugh at me but this is my life goal. I would totally do it. Also, obviously, it would be very helpful for the kids who actually need it to.
