American Society and "The world state" are similar in the way that in the world state they have outcasts and so does American society today. We shun people that are different. Even though in American Society today it is not as harsh but we still treat outcasts pretty rough.
the out cast is shunned off to a island that happens in our society but we dont shun them away to random island. Thats kind of childish because we just deal with them but they ship them off.
"The World State" has many things in common with American Society, I believe one of things we have in common is the fact that The Controller "officially disapproves" of things. We don't know, but it is almost as if they have their own little secrets when trying to better the society. A difference of ours is the fact that we completely banish outcasts to a whole different land. We don't do that. (As far as society knows.)
A thing that they have in common is outcasts. We have like outcasts in the world and so do they. A thing that they don't have in common is what they do with the outcasts. In their society they send them to an island.
A thing that they have in common would be that people that are different are kind of shunned by society. They don't fit in and they are generally ignored by society.
The World State is different from American Society because: -We are family oriented. -We focus on reading and literature and education. -We are taught to fight through our problem instead of using drugs. -We do not focus on stability -The "feelys" would be considered pornographic in our society. We are the same in the fact that -Increasing consumtion is everything to us.
The World State is a lot like American Society today because if you're not how people expect you to be, you're talked about behind your back and you're looked at in a weird manner. People expect you to be a certain way and if you're not, you're basically hated.
I think that they are similar in today's american society by the different ways we act around some people. The reason is because some people are very rude around other people. But not everybody knows what to say that are nice to other people.
The World State is like American Society because we try to get rid of unpleasant things by using artificial things. We like to avoid the idea of having to face anything negative and we would do anything to stop that. In the World State, they get rid of unpleasant people and send them off to an island like in the American Society we try to avoid people occasionally.
The World State is broken into several social classes. Our present day American society also has social classes, but they are not decided the same way. In The World State they are made for a certain class and in our society you fall into a social class based on different reasons.
The World State and American Society are different because we don't have a drug like soma that everyone uses like they do in the story.

Bernard is sent away in "The World State" like convicts are sent away in "American Society."
