  1. So I'm fairly pumped for this meet tonight, since I'm pretty sure we aren't running a 4x800. Don't get me wrong, I love our relay, but I'm more excited to really focus in on my hurdles. That, paired with my open 800 should make for a pretty successful invitational.

  2. I really need to get my spanish grade up, I'm kind of stressing over the quiz next period because I really need to get a good grade. I really hate spanish though, I honestly don't think its essential but apparently the school board doesn't agree. So until I finish Spanish II, I will constantly stress over my grade.

  3. Football is starting back up and I am really excited. I have a feeling that we are going to have a pretty good season this year. It will definitely be better than last year. Especially now that we have a new coach and more players.

  4. This year I'm in Spanish 1. Next year will be Spanish 2. Last week, someone came into our class and talked about how hard Spanish 2 was if you didn't pay attend in the first year. He said we needed to keep all our notes for the next year. My handwriting is awful though. So in the next 30 days of school, I'm taking a Spanish 1 book home with me every night and typing up the English to Spanish glossary and all the charts I'll need. My fingers were killing me last night from typing so much.

    1. This weekend I'm going back to Nicholasville to see some old friends. I'm kind of dreading/excited at the same time but I don't know why. It's my mom's best friend's little girl's birthday on Saturday. Last time I seen her she was only 2; now she's turning 6!!! The only thing I hope is that I don't get stuck up there all night.

  5. It's Friday and the week is finally almost over. It's prom weekend for everyone else and I can't wait for ours. I'm so ready to wear my dress, get my hair done, and have fun. Until then, I'm definitely taking a nap when school is over today. I love softball, but off days are a gift from God.

  6. My favorite article of clothing is a shirt that I am going to design. I think we can all guess what the design is going to be. Of course, an Irrawaddy dolphin. I'll be the center of attention with my Irrawaddy shirt. And I'm also going to put TNHS on it somewhere, so I can wear it to school on spirit days.

  7. This weekend I have a soccer tournament and I am not really looking forward to it. We will only have 12 players and both of our goalies broke their arm in the last two games. So we are just going down there for a chance of not getting killed in every game and win a few.

  8. Well seeing as how Dwarves' gestation period is usually over 3 years, we have plenty of time until Heoffery's baby is born. Until that time period has elapsed, Please Hold. *Elevator music starts to play*

  9. These week has been a living hell for me because people are jerks. But on the bright side my Birthday is in 14 days and I have my third recital this Sunday. Now back to the bad side I cannot wait for today to be over because I am not in the mood to deal with people, do school work.

  12. This weekend Kendoll and I have to perform our clarinet duet for a rating from a judge at the solo and ensemble festival. Last year we earned a distinguished rating and got tiny shiny medals. Kendoll and I have worked really hard on our duet and I hope we can maintain our distinguished rating streak. I also wish the best of luck to the other band students performing solos and ensemble pieces for the judges! Everyone attending the event has worked really hard for this upcoming weekend.

  14. I'll be going to John Hardin High School next year and I'm hoping to make the cheer team. The official tryouts are today but we have had a bunch of clinics throughout the week. I think i'll make the team but i'm really nervous. I'm afraid i'll mess up on the dance routine.. I'm actually a really good main base so i'm not worried about stunts, my jumps are iffy, and i have the 2 cheers down to a T. The two things i'm worried most about are the dance and tumbling. I just got my back handspring and i did them 20 times by myself last night.. But they don't look really pretty. I have the dance memorized by the counts are really fast and today will be the first time we dance to the music so i'm nervous that i'll get flustered and forget some of the motions.. I don't know.. I've been doubting myself a lot here lately. Hopefully I make the team, I'll find out before I leave the school. It's making me nervous just thinking about it.

  15. My favorite article of clothing is my Thomas Nelson football shirt that I'm wearing right now. It's my favorite because it's comfortable and I don't know why else I just like it.

  16. well we lost last night... but thats okay, we've been playing a lot better than we were at the beginning of the season. we just have to keep working hard.

  17. Tomorrow starts my second to last tournament for my club team. I have to be on the road at five in the morning heading to Cincinnati. We have to be there by seven something because we ref the first game at eight then we play at nine but other than that I don't know the rest of the schedule for the tournament except we ref the last game at five as well. It's gonna be kinda weird this tournament because I am playing a different position then usual whenever I am front row. Back row will still be the same because I will set out of the back row and then I'm front row I will be playing outside instead of right side because our original outside hitter will be at prom Saturday so she is not coming to the tournament at all and our back up player doesn't want to hit outside she wants to hit right side so we have to switch and that is very confusing but I think it will all work out.

  20. Wednesday was the last time our Young Leaders group is going to meet. I'm going to miss everyone in the group; it was quite a lot of fun and learning; it was just overall a great experience to everyone involved and would encourage any freshmen who might want to apply next year to do so. That being said we, unfortunately, lost a member of our group a day before we met and some of us were struggling. However, Sunday is the visitation and as a group we are going to show support to those who knew and loved her and helpfully in someway lighten the burden they are carrying.

  21. Today is Friday so, for like the 100th time I'm going to write about tennis. We're supposed to have a match today against Nelson County, but since it rained I don't know if the match is still on. However, I really hope it is because districts are next week and we haven't played County at all this season!

  22. I'm worried about my quiz in Spanish next period, I even made notecards. I never do that. And missing one day of class makes it harder.. I hope I do well.

  23. When you stop to think about it English is a very beautiful language. Maybe it's just me being a nerd, but some of the words in our language are amazing. For instance eloquence, felicity, and serendipity are a few that come to mind. They slip right off the tongue and give word to things that may otherwise be indescribable. Like serendipity, which is encountering a pleasant surprise. Despite all the harsh, ugly words, English really is elegant sometimes.

  24. It's Friday so that's good but i'm really tired. I have a test in Spanish and pre AP biology and i hope i pass. Spanish will most likely be harder because I forget how to spell them. Pre AP biology might be easier because we have learned this for a while.

  26. So I still can't get over the fact that today is Coach Brohm's last day. He has been my favorite teacher here at TNHS since I started high school. I had him for one class last year and it was my favorite class. He basically allowed me to rant to him whenever I wanted and he was always agreed with me even when I was completely wrong. For example, I was having some friend troubles one time and I said that the other friend should apologize for being a bad friend when in truth, I knew I was the one being a bad friend, but Coach didn't tell me that... Until I told him that I figured out I should be the one apologizing and he said "THANK GOD YOU FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT! It was killing me inside not telling you, but I wanted you to learn your own mistakes." He's seriously taught me alot in these past two years. We even have our little inside jokes about Peyton Manning and his deepest secrets. I'm really going to miss our arguments about the Broncos, the last Superbowl, and UK vs. UL. I'm seriously thinking about going to WKU now instead of UK. cx

  27. We had Young Leaders on Wednesday and usually it's a great time and we get to see the new friends we've made over the year. It was still fun and I still learned a lot and got to help with the Feeding America project, but it wasn't the same. We were missing someone. I don't remember people by last name, only by face and first name. When the breaking news of the two deaths came out and everyone said "Netherlands" it didn't form any recognition; it was just another sad story that happened to Bardstown. But when I got in the car to head home, my mom told me who it was. The young leaders had a great privilege to know Samantha. It's weird thinking that could actually happen to someone who had such a bright future.

  32. I am so tired today for some reason. I have no idea why as I slept good last night. I'm going over to Cassie Mattingly's house tonight so she better let me sleep some. We have volleyball pretty early tomorrow so that means no sleeping in yet again. I can't tell you the last time I actually got to sleep in. (By the way, I consider sleeping in like 9.) I would love to have one Saturday where I would not have anything to do. I am super excited about tomorrow though: Quinton's going to prom! I can't wait to see him all dressed up and take pictures. I'm pretty sure I am more excited for it than him.

  36. I wish it was nice outside. I think it's still raining. It doesn't feel like Friday but i'm really glad it is. The last 30 days of school are going to go by so slow. This summer is going to be pretty awesome.

  37. I am so tired. I want to sleep. This afternoon we are having an event for FFA and I'm super excited about it. Ms. Bate's room is going to be one of the rooms being used. It's gonna be some super cool leadership workshops and I'm really excited to see how it will turn out. I hope everyone has a great time. FFA is like a second family to me. I remember freshman year when one of the officers asked me if I was interested in being in FFA and I told them maybe. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life and I don't regret it one bit. I love how they all make me laugh and I feel like I belong among them. Tonight will be great.

  38. My favorite article of clothing would probably be muscle shirts or a football jersey. Muscle shirts because it's the closest thing to wearing no shirt and a football jersey because I like the skin tight feel around the shoulders and sleeves but not the rest of the shirt and yeah they're kinda the best and tend to fit well.

  39. I am beyond tired today. Lack of sleep and too much caffeine make my mind foggy. I haven't been able to focus and last period I dozed off multiple times. I really need to stop staying up until one or two in the morning but I probably won't. I like it at night. Its quiet and dark and gives me plenty of time to think, which can be good or bad due to my over-thinking tendencies. I don't really know where I was going with this free-write. I just wrote whatever came to my head.

  41. I can't stress enough how excited I am for volleyball season to come back around. It's been a long time since I've even touched a volleyball. Our coach says that open gyms will start soon and I couldn't be happier; although, I know I'm going to struggle a lot this season because of my two recent surgeries. My surgeon said that I will not be able to jump/move the way I used to for about a year. I'm trying real hard to get back to normal, but it's difficult handling the pain right now. No matter what happens though, I'm going to suck up the pain and play to the best of my ability.

  44. I had so many things I was going to do today and at approximately 10:45 last night my mom was all "lol no you can't do any of those things because we told your sister you'd babysit." Um, excuse me? I do not recall signing up for that. They also aren't letting me drive to pick up Kati after they leave. They said she lives too far away and I "need more experience before I start driving other people such long distances." She serioulsy lives like 15 minutes from here. Why did I even get my licence?

  45. Today wasnt going too good until about 10 minutes ago! The Harrison twins announced that they are staying at UK and not going into the draft!!! I'm so happy! It's great if people want to go the NBA and make money at what they love doing but having a college education is really important too! I think the NBA should make a rule where you have to have at least 2 years of college before joining the draft. It is the player's decision but I selfishly want UK to get their ninth championship title! Strive for Nine! BBN!

  46. I'm very excited for The Fault In Our Stars to come out on June 6th. If Keystone has a midnight premiere to it, then I am going. However, if there is not a midnight premiere, I will first throw a fit, and then I will do whatever humanly possible to be at the cinemas watching the movie at 3:06. I have to go to graduation that night and so I may have to wear my concert black into the movie but I do not care. I don't want to sit around and wait for all the people I have a strong despise toward to roll out of the theater going, "Omg y'all. Faulted Stars was such a good movie. Did you hear they writed a book about it? It made me cry. New fave movie." The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that Hazel Grace is being played by Shailene Woodley who also played Tris in "Divergent". I'm not chill with that. I wanted somebody not-famous to play the role like how Jennifer Lawrence was a completely new, unknown face for "The HUnger Games". If I had it my own selfish way, I wouldn't even want the movie to be in theaters like Perks of Being A Wallflower. I guess the only way to explain it with a TFIOS quote: “Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. And then there are books like An Imperial Affliction, which you can't tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like betrayal”

    1. I AGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE WORD OF THIS. I AM SO EXCITED. I also cannot stand the fact that Shailene is playing both Hazel Grace and Tris because THE GUY THAT PLAYS TRIS'S BROTHER PLAYS GUS. THAT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. Oh and by the way, that's one of my favorite quotes out of that book. Ok, I'm done now.

  50. It's Sunday now and I wasn't at school on Thursday or Friday due to feeling under the weather and having a random cold sore beside my mouth, so I'm really not looking forward to making up all of the work I missed and explaining why I wasn't there. I have two tests and a quiz to make up, and I'd much rather not start off my Monday with a bunch of things to do, but there's not much I can do to prevent it and hopefully all of the work will be over quickly. I am feeling much better now though, so that's always a plus, and hopefully everything will sort itself out and I'll feel and look as good as new in the next week or so!
